Syirithian Government
Background
During the Age of Terror, Syirith was ruled under the absolute monarch Iseleth. Syirith was an area with few allies, turbulent political connections, and much internal discord. Many of the country’s inhabitants believed the judicial system was unfair and discriminatory to particular races such as elves, humans, orcs, and even women. Very often military officials misused their power and brought abuse and in worst case scenarios, death to their people. Days did not become brighter until the Monarch stepped down (see History for details) and the High Council of Syirith began to reconstruct the entire governmental system. This era is known as the Age of Hope. Major Events in Government History:
The Resignation of Monarch Iseleth: July 3rd (Holiday)High Council Day: July 4th (Holiday)
Ocean Conference: August 3rd (The trial against all military personnel that abused their privilege during the Age of Terror)
Although the High Council has made some miraculous changes throughout time such as a stricter, more rigid military and a reasonable judicial system, there are still minor problems that can occur.
Currency
The currency has remained the same throughout time, but the art work on the currency has changed from the face of Iseleth to the crest of the High Council (See History for Image). Money within Syirith is as follows:Crest (A cube of silver with a colored Syirithian Flag located on all faces): 100 Crest are equal to 1 Gem
Gem (A shard of red stone with the golden crest of the High Council): 10 Gems are equal to 1 Prize
Prize (Holds the highest currency, a rectangular sheet of gold engraved with the crest of the High Council)
Military
Syirithian Naval: Syirith has one of the best naval military’s around, as to be expected of a country that is surrounded on all sides by water. Though the military has made significant advancements like Battle Fish and Stealth Ships, the seamen still proficiently use Ocean Wyverns in battle (see below). The Syirithian Navy majorily operates in the High Grounds but is required to travel to the LoweGrounds in states of emergency and the Flight Force vice versa. The Syirithian Naval branch has two sections of 75,000 soldiers that separate into smaller groups depending on circumstance. The Circle of Mages: This small gorup not only acts as the official head of all branches of the Syirithian Military, but also the lead ambassadors of the country. Being one of the six mages is a very powerful and prosperous position, as each member has direct contact with the High Council at all times. It is also a dangerous and vigorous group; they are responsible for upholding all runes and spells that protect the cities, damage control for for foreign affairs, and the last resort during national emergencies and warfare.
Syirithian Flight Force: The newly developed air force is a very rigid and structured system of pilots and flight bombers that are trained efficiently in chemistry, advanced magic, and aerodynamics along with their genreal studies. This branch of the military is housed mostly in the Lowegrounds, Each of the four sections of the Flight Force holds approximately 35,000 soldiers.
Submarines:
Syirithian Submarines, sometimes called the S.S and Battle Fish, are some of the most prized possessions of the Navy. The concept and creation of the machines took an entire decade. Battle Fish are equipped with missiles, water-mines, and allow pilots to conduct electrical and magical activity to use in combat. Made from a metal native to only the bed of the Aegis Sea, Yuriel, these machines can withstand up to 30,000 times their weight in impact and direct pressure, allowing them to not only receive minimal damage in warfare, but dive into the deep trenches of the ocean. Despite their durability, they can reach up to 150 miles per hour on the surface and 120 below due to their moderate size of 50 feet, magic-powered propellers and motors, and the experienced pilots’ use of currents during movement.
