Welcome, travelling writer. Fear not, your desire, thirst and passion for unrestricted, free form roleplay has been quenched, and you have found a bastion where all of your dreams can, and very well will be realized. We understand your plight here. We were too bound to the creatively stifling forums and sites that forced you to lock your true potential away, but here we do not discriminate, and we want nothing more than your loyal patronage. Below will be a list of common/general question about Nu-Guardia. If you have specific question you want answered that we didn't think of, shoot any of the administrators a pm and we will add them to the list!
What is Nu-Guardia?
Nu-Guardia, first and foremost is a roleplay community dedicated to the advancement of its writers in terms of skill and command over the english(and maybe some more fictional)language. We will have a host of writers, some very good, and some not so good. The idea is for the experienced to give the less experienced a platform and an ideal to work toward. Nu-Guardia was birthed out of a desire to allow the writers to feel important and heard in a world that is alive and constantly changing, like the very real world we live in.
In Character, Nu-Guardia is a planet not unlike Earth in some ways, and vastly different in others. The world our characters will be adventuring in is about 3/4 the size of the earth, with about 20% less gravity than we expereince here on our home planet. Nu-Guardia is in a galaxy far, far away called E.V.-104, as dubbed by humans, but those calling the galaxy home have named it Cyvis.
Guardia, just like Earth is the bed of life for many different creatures and species, though there is an obvious difference in diversity. Nu-Guardia is home to many different sentient races from lizard men, to vampires, to the undead and everything in between.
Is there a central storyline in Nu-Guardia?
No. Just like in the real world, there is no plotline by which you, or anyone else must follow. Nu Guardia is in fact built by its members. While we have provided a template and canon world for you to roleplay in, it is up to you to add to it, and make it your own. Do you have a great idea for some lore? Have it Added! Do you want to create your own continent, and have cool stories in mind for it? By all means request to have it created! Want to pillage ad plunder cities, or wage an entire war on a continent? Do so(please speak with the lore writer/moderator of the place you are attacking beforehand)We love to hear people wanting to help us expand and make this place YOUR world, built for YOU, the roleplayers.
Is there a central theme in Nu Guardia? Like medieval, or sci-fi?
Why no, friend. There is no centralized theme, because we have a little bit of everything! If you are looking for a semi-modern, magic infused area, then you'll love Telaris. It is the most advanced of the current two nations, and even has flying trains and floating motorcycles. Syirith sits in the middle, boasting both classic styles of roleplay with swords and magic, to their own innovations in tech.
The idea is, we have a little something for everyone, and if you don't think we are quite inclusive enough, you always have the option to create your own nation, that will abide by your own rules!
Okay so that's all good, but what about the good stuff? What about character creation?
Now this is the cream of the crop, here. What separates us from so many other forums, and shows our loyalty to absolute creative freedom. There is no character approval process in Nu-Guardia. Your character may be whomever, and whatever you wish. A demon banished from their home world? GO FOR IT! A simple tailor running a shop in the grand cities of Telaris? Be our guest. We will not discriminate, and force your character to be scrutinized by us. It is your work, put it where you please.
Now while we give you all the freedom you desire, we still want a fun, fair roleplay environment. That said, we heavily recommend that you create characters that do not have all encompassing powers or have reality bending capabilities(Or if they do, please regulate them so they are never used for IC combat.) We don't care what your character has, we care about what it does. Function over form. So feel free to do as you wish, but be fair.
Please note that for T1 tournaments, characters will need to be reviewed for fair play. Other than that, you have free reign.
So I have created a character, where do I go now?
Great! Now that your character is done, you have several options.
1. You can go to the advertisement forum, and look for roleplays to join, or write up one of your own and try to recruit for it. If you don't really know anyone and are looking for a way to get your name out there, and make connections this is the recommended path.
2. You can jump right in. Go straight to the country/board that seems the most appealing to you and start writing stories and see if other jump in. If you are a hands on person, who likes to be thrown into worlds, then this is the place for you.
