The Lonely Mountains
ONE need not be a chamber to be haunted,
One need not be a house;
The brain has corridors surpassing
Material place.
Far safer, of a midnight meeting
External ghost,
Than an interior confronting
That whiter host.

The lonely Mountains stretch for thousands of square miles all throughout Telaris' geography, making it Longer than any mountain range in the rest of the world. From any point atop the mountains, and upon entering its face, it commands a view of Telaris as far in any direction as the eye permits. The Mountain range has been in existence for as long as the people of Nu Guardia can remember, fabled to have been caused in one of the battles between the Gods that shaped Telaris as we know it today. The mountains were named by a legend that states a single, lone man entered the mountain on a pilgrimage, and got lost. With no hope of rescue, he fell into despair, and went insane by his lonesome. Whether or not the rumor his true has yet to be made clear.
A peculiar effect, one which granted the mountains the moniker the Montem de Arcana Photis, or the Mountain of Mysterious lights. For reasons unknown to even the most brilliant of scientists, and the most learned of magic practicioners, at the crests of the mountain spans, if one is lucky, the mountain gives off an incredibly potent, constant wave of magical runoff, creating wondrous dark hued lights in the sky, though can only be seen at night. It was rumored these mountains were created by the battle between two Gods, could it be their magical aura's are so strong they still linger to this day? Or is there a deeper meaning?
The Caustic Cliffs
Far safer through an Abbey gallop,
The stones achase,
Than, moonless, one’s own self encounter
In lonesome place.
Ourself, behind ourself concealed,
Should startle most;
Assassin, hid in our apartment,
Be horror’s least.

The Caustic Cliffs are another set of rock formations within the Lonely Mountain Expanse, that float magickly at 36,000 feet above sea level, and overlooks an ocean of clouds. Atop Mount Arterian, the highest peak of the Caustic Cliffs, is easily the highest naturally occurring rock formation in all of the world.Ascending to this height is usually dangerous, as it prevents most from being acclimated, and is constantly plagued by storms, and other, far more deadly effects.
A set of ascending stairs carved into the rock of the Lonely mountain, and then a set of portals that can only be activated via magic interference serve as the entryway to the Caustic Cliffs. The portals are platforms, etched with ancient, powerful runes, a discipline long since lost to practiced magicians in Telaris. What's more is that, whatever the purpose, it seemed whomever built, or cut the floating rock formations didn't want non-magic users entering the domain.
The Caustic Cliffs get their name from a poisonous, vitriolic miasma of verdure that percolates, and permeates the entire expanse. This deadly haze has prevented any in depth scouting of the area, so little is known, other than the fact that the miasma has arcane properties, and isn't a naturally occurring phenomena. The Miasma, also seems to have lasting, very long term effects on the magically imbued, and can completely eat through charms and enchantments with ease. Magicians beware.
The Ironspour Crevices
Ourself, behind ourself concealed,
Should startle most;
Assassin, hid in our apartment,
Be horror’s least.
The prudent carries a revolver,
He bolts the door,
O’erlooking a superior spectre
More near.
