It starts with the rise of a misfit, and a fall of a hero. I was led to rp by a less than useless rper herself, and easily rose through the ranks of the one-liners. A simple nack for writing, turned to a fun hobby that led me to a lot of... interesting characters. I took the usual path, para, multi para, just goofing off from time to time. I found guilds, and a friend who helped me improve a lot on his own, though I doubt he even knows it. When malcolm faught me, grudgingly at first, he realised I had more than a little potential. Then some irl things happened, a little tea was spilt, and a mobile phone got ruined, and then we find the fall. After four agonizing weeks of no contact or rp to be found, the rp vibe slipped away. Even my fire for wanting to beat malcolm left me. Then some amateur cleaning with a cotton swab took place, and I was finally back. Though what I returned to was a dieing chat room, or several for that matter. I had run out of steam with every post. The very second I announced my quitting, and some voodoo fate bullshit had malcolm pming me at that very moment, telling me of a forum solely for people who want to improve. This is what I come for, to see if its worth sticking around.

Welcome to Guardia, Mister Jason. It seems you share a similar story that a lot of us here once had. While I can see you started on tango, I started on an IM that was the 'chatango' of its day called Yahoo messenger as a combat rp enthusiast. Yahoo was closely related to several forums, and like all great kingdoms, Yahoo fell to laziness, politics, and bickering. This was about 10 years ago. From there I moved to various forums that served as havens for those Yahoo rp'ers who still took not just fighting, but writing seriously, but they all eventually ran their course. Nu Guardia is the most recent in the line of forums spawned to create a semi-permanent haven for rp'ers to come, and through our chatango chatbox, and various friends who rp'd on tango occasionally, we are also somewhat associated with your chatango community.
We have a lot of talent here on both fronts, those being writing, and combat rp. Malcolm, from what I've seen is good, but we've all still got things to learn. If you like to fight, we host regular tournaments and events. If you prefer pure story, we have two boards for that as well; Telaris, and Syirith. I hope you are here for the long haul!

Thanks for the welcome, reginald. I spent some time skimming details and such of the forum last night. Needless to say my interest has been peaked. Im a combat rper as well, though I like rp chatrooms where I can build a basis for my fights. Like I said, I ran out of steam recently so im thinking starting all over, building from the ground up, would be the best course of action. I need to improve before I get back into the swing of things, so a tournement wouldnt be the best idea for right now. I will definitely plan on climbing my way up very soon however. The fighting spirit hasnt left yet.

Hey there, Jason. I am Sol, Solar, Rick, Richard, whatever you wanna' call me. I generally host lots of T1 tourneys here, namely the Chosen tournament, the most prestigious one here. The Chosen II is starting soon, and seeing how you like combat rp, why not give it a try when it is announced? We love seeing new enthusiasts on that front.
P.S.: I am a bit confused what you mean by "I like rp chatrooms where I can build a basis for my fights." I am unsure if this is a reference to the chatango chatrooms where your fights occur, or just any place that hosts text related rp. If it is the former, I am a bit curious as to how it helps you build a basis any more or less than any other setup, like a forum.

Well welcome to our little slice of heaven, Jason!
I started in the Chatango just like you, climbing through the ranks rather quickly and becoming a well-known multi-para roleplayer. However, for some reason, I began to lose faith in Chatango, and this became my new home. I couldn't be happier with my decision.
I hope you're in it for the long haul, and become one with the fold.

Rick, its the latter. I just meant any situation where I can find an actual reason to fight, as opposed to randomly duking it out for no discernable reason, like it happens ever so often on chatango.
