Viktaal had in fact fallen into the distraction as much as his opponent needed. And Viktaal knew it as soon as the first few instants of the explosion passed by effortlessly. He knew the explosion would burn everywhere around him, since he was caught in the mist. This was the end, surely.
At the least, he would have suffered burns over most of his body, if not all of it, as the arm band would surely have suffered enough damage from the explosion to no longer be useful. That would mean his biggest defense would suffer. Viktaal didn't have a chance to even mutter a word. Whatever was left of him would have fallen to the ground. The most in-tact thing could possibly have been his weapon at the best.
